As a key actor of green electricity production, small hydro benefits from this global trend : new projects are sets, new products are made available on the market, environmental integration is now a key issue that is taken into consideration by the project developers.
However, the future of hydropower in Europe is uncertain. The implementation of regulation dealing with water management and protection, and the growing concern and requirements from the environmental point of view, are damaging the image of hydropower. Moreover, these regulations will have a real impact in the production and development of the remaining hydro potential. Therefore, is then particularly important to make a change and to demonstrate that hydropower is not only alive, but also dynamic. Altogether, we can make a change!
Organized by ESHA since 1989, Hidroenergia Congress gather together the main stakeholders of the SHP sector in Europe to debate about the hot topics affecting the development of the sector, exchange experiences and present new advances in the technology as well as to network and find business opportunities and partners. These congresses are co-organized by one of ESHA’s members representing the hosted country, being MHyLab our partner for this year’s edition.
Hidroenergia 2010 will take place in June 2010 in Switzerland. 2010 represents an important year as far as hydropower is concerned:
